Easter 2011

We had a nice low key Easter and it was pretty much perfect, besides the rain of course. Saturday I worked so I was unable to take Roweyn anywhere that was having an Easter Event but I was determined on Sunday to go to our community's annual Easter Egg Hunt right down the street from our house.

We started off with Roweyn opening her Easter basket and she loved seeing all her goodies, taking them out and sharing them with everyone else. I opted not to put any candy in her basket because what almost 16mo old needs candy anyways? I put in a few things from the whole family and some stuff I had been collecting but hadn't given to her yet. She got a couple  books, some new outfits, a couple stuffed animals, a toy blowdryer (so she could be like her Mama and do hair), a pair of sandals and some Agoo leggings that we had gotten for free. :) She is well loved, thats for sure.

I watched the weather outside all morning Sunday as it was gloomy and rainy in hopes that there would be a break by the afternoon. Roweyn and I sang "Rain, Rain Go Away So We Can Hunt for Easter Eggs" over and over while we looked outside. At 12 we started to see a break in the clouds and the sun trying to peek out, so happy about this we decided to get our stuff together and by 12:45 we were out the door heading to the park hoping that at 1 it would still be nice!

Trisha and Kashmir met us there so that they could join in on the fun too! As we waited we got to take a photo with the Easter Bunny! I tried to get Roweyn to sit on his lap without me holding her but there was no chance she was going to allow that! So once again I am in the photo with her!

After we saw the Easter Bunny we waited a few minutes longer until we could do the Egg hunt. They divided the age groups and we were in the 1-3 year olds. There was hardly anyone there, so it was perfect. There were tons of eggs and all the kids had enough and basically had their own little section to grab eggs from. Not once was there another kid around us which I found really surprising! The girls did great, they each grabbed a couple eggs and then just stood there holding them or playing with them. I think Roweyn was half asleep because she hadn't napped yet and she kept spacing out! ha

As soon as we finished and were walking away, it started sprinkling, and by the time we got to the car it was almost pouring! It couldn't have been timed more perfect!

We headed back to the house and Trisha and Kashmir came over so the girls could spend the rest of the afternoon playing together and of course so we could have some Mama time as well! They surprised Roweyn with an Easter present which Roweyn loved. They are the sweetest friends!

Hope you all had a great Easter as well!
