Fuzzibunz!

So after we got back from our trip to Eureka we had a pretty busy week. Monday we had some visitors which actually went very well by the way. Tuesday we got to rest, Wednesday we had an appt at WIC where Roweyn got weighed. She now weighs 10lbs 9oz and is 22 1/4 in. long!! So she has officially doubled her birth weight by 2.5 months! On Thursday I got a pedicure at Bonbon Salon. They have the coolest chairs you sit in. After your feet are done soaking and being scrubbed, she pushes a button on the chair and it reclines down so you're laying on your back with your legs up and bent. It is the most relaxing and comfortable pedicure I have ever had! It was hard not to fall asleep. haha Friday my mom, sister, Roweyn and I drove up to Reno and spent the weekend there. We haven't gone up there since October, so I was pretty excited. We stayed at my brother Kadin's house and we had a bbq that night with some friends. Saturday we hung out most of the day and then I got to go to the salon and get a much needed haircut and some new highlights! Afterwards we saw Trev's new house he's living in and then went and saw our friend Jamie and her son Rowan which is Roweyn's future boyfriend. hehe We drove back home Sunday afternoon, but I definitely wish we could have stayed longer! I miss Reno, surprisingly. ha!

On Friday I ordered Roweyn's new cloth diapers! They're called Fuzzi Bunz and are really cool! I got them in the mail today and I can't wait to start using them! They will save you around $2,000 when you switch to them from disposables! They also help potty train faster! I really hope they work well! I read a lot of reviews and everyone seems to love them, so I'm hoping for the best!

This week has been a pretty calm week. I took Roweyn to go see my best friend (her "Uncle") and a couple of close friends (her "Uncle and Auntie") on Monday. We hadn't seen each other since Roweyn was born or right before she was, so it was nice being able to visit and for them to see how much Roweyn has grown!

Yesterday while we were home I was lifting Roweyn up into the air and she was laughing! I started to laugh and she thought that was funny and started to laugh even more. This was the first time she really started laughing. It's adorable! I think she was a little confused by what she's doing though cause while she was laughing she wasn't sure if she was actually supposed to be laughing or crying, which made me laugh even more. I can't wait to hear her laugh again!

Today while we were doing tummy time she was really trying to make herself scoot! And she did a couple times. She's getting really strong, she holds her head up really well, she loves to stand up all the time, and she really wants to sit up. Every time we lay her down, she lifts her head off the ground wanting to sit up, and when we hold her she does not like to lay down, she either has to be sitting up or standing.

Roweyn is going to be 3 months on Saturday! I really can't believe it has already been 3 months since she was born! I can't picture life any differently though. She is such a blessing and I absolutely love being a mom! Even though I am a single mom, I really can't imagine it being any other way. She has made me grow up so much already and I really can't wait for what the future holds for us.

Eureka!

So we just got back yesterday from our week long trip to Eureka to visit family. It was really nice to get away and see everyone. I ended up being sick with laryngitis most of the week and barely had a voice. Roweyn wasn't feeling very well either and was super sensitive. Almost every time someone held her besides my mom or me, she started crying, and as soon as they would hand her back to me, she would calm down. She really knows her mommy already. I'm hoping that now that we're back home she will feel better. My grandma/Roweyn's great grandma had a dinner party for Roweyn so all of the family could meet her. It was really nice and everybody loved meeting her and took turns holding her, not really to her liking though. haha. We got a picture of my grandma, my mom, myself, and Roweyn since there are 4 generations of us alive right now. I wish I could post the photo but it's on my moms camera. I'm sure I will get it up on facebook at some point. We we're very busy all week and wore her out.

She slept all night, almost every night on her back in her new play yard for up to 9 hours! She's doing great at night! It's been two weeks since she started this and it's going great, but I know it won't last since babies always change their routines. So I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can!

Roweyn had her first giggle the other day. I was sitting on a couch and my mom was giving Roweyn to me, I was talking to her and she giggled! It was super cute! But it hasn't happened since. :( Hopefully it will again soon!

We have a busy week this week. A couple visitors tomorrow and I'm really hoping it will go well. I wish i could talk about it more but I don't think it's a good idea yet. We have a couple appointments and I'm getting a pedicure on Friday! I picked up all the photos I got developed and I'm hoping to start putting them in frames this week and get everything organized to start on my scrapbooks. I'm excited to be able to start doing more things now that Roweyn is a little older and not eating and wanting to be held non stop.

It feels good to be back home! Gotta go get some unpacking and cleaning done before tomorrow!

Hit the Road Jack!

Busy day today! We're getting ready to take a trip up north to Eureka for a week to visit our relatives. None of them have seen Roweyn yet except one of my aunts and cousins, so we're excited to go up there so everyone can meet Roweyn! I'm hoping the car ride will go well tomorrow since it's a 6 hour drive! Rowe hasn't been feeling good the past couple days so hopefully the car ride won't be too much for her. My grandma is throwing a party for Roweyn so we can all get together and they can finally meet her! It will be nice to get away for the week. I'm starting to get cabin fever from being stuck in this little town all the time! haha

Rowe had her 2 month check up yesterday. She's doing great! She's now 10lbs 1oz and 21 3/4in. This is the check up where she would have gotten a few shots but I opted not to get them. I really don't think most of these shots are necessary...at least not until her immune system has some time to develop...but even then I don't really think they're necessary. Most of these shots are to prevent diseases that don't even exist in the U.S. anymore or it's a disease that only teens or adults get. I understand the purpose of them in countries where they have a lot of issues with these diseases and think those babies should get them, but here it doesn't really seem necessary. I think it's in China where they wait till their babies are 2 years old before they even give them any shots because it gives their immune systems a chance to develop, which to me makes a lot of sense. I can't remember the last time I had a shot...I didn't get the shots necessary for school. My mom wavered them because she didn't think they we're necessary. And look at me! I'm still disease free! haha wow that rhymes....My sister only got one of her vaccinations and it made her so sick afterwards that my mom opted not to have her get any more. There are a lot of pros and cons for getting them and not getting them...so I'm not saying it's wrong to get them but this is just how I feel. I would love to hear other opinions on this topic if anyone is interested! Leave a comment! :)

Last Saturday Roweyn and I got together with most of the people from my childbirth class and had a little reunion. Roweyn got to meet all the little babies and make new friends! It was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed getting together with all the other new moms and talking about how everything is going. Its neat too cause all of our babies are born within 2 months of each other, so they're all really close in age. I wanted to go to a couple mommy/baby groups this week but on Wednesday I ended up doing 3 kids haircuts at my house. Then I figured it probably would be best not to go this week since we are going out of town and I don't want to expose Roweyn to any sick babies. But looks like she ended up not feeling good anyways. :( So we ended up missing this weeks and we'll miss next weeks too since we'll be in Eureka but the week after, I definitely want to go!

I've been going through all my photos to get some developed so I can start scrapbooking and putting them in all my empty frames I have! This is gonna be a big project! I'm getting over 200 photos developed! ha and there's more to come! I can't wait to get started though!

So about a week or two ago Roweyn started this fake cough when she wants to laugh. It's so funny and cute and cracks me up every time! Now her newest thing is to stick her tongue out and move it around. She sticks it out the side of her mouth like she's going to lick her lips. She is such a character.

Last Friday I went to the chiropractor to get adjusted and Roweyn got adjusted too. My chiropractor does Craniosacral therapy where she presses on different pressure points in your body to relieve whatever is going on. She has worked on me since I was 4 and has really helped! I had really bad ear infections at that age and my mom took me to see her. After she worked on me a few times I ended up only getting one or two that year. But Roweyn has felt so much better since then. Way less fussy and she slept through the night for 6 nights in a row! It was great! She had a little trouble last night but only because she wasn't feeling good and I'm trying to transition her into another bed. She's still sleeping in her bouncer cause she hates lying flat on her back while sleeping. But it's getting too small for her to sleep in, so I've got to get her out of it.

Alright well Rowe baby is asleep which means it's time for me to finish packing!!
