Roweyn's Ramblings Wk. 66

Waiting patiently and having girl talks on the trampoline.

Best Friend play date that included naked water time.
Also? Roweyn wearing Kashmir's baby sisters 12-18 mo swim suit.
Pretending to be twins, yet these girls could not be more different!

I had to post all these photos of the girls since they are making different faces in each of them!

Love Roweyn's little smirk!
The next day we had an appointment & Roweyn also got weighed & measured!
On a standing scale, half naked, she was just about 22lbs and measuring her height standing up she is just about 34 1/4.
After that we headed over the park to play for a bit but the weather was a little cooler than we were expecting so we didn't stay long.

The next day was Rowe's last day of school, so we headed home after the park to relax and make a card for Rowe's teacher.

Roweyn's 2 Year Check Up

So on Friday, Roweyn had her 2 year check up (a month late). We waited 45 minutes before we even went back into a room even though we were the first appointment after lunch, but we always seem to have to wait, no matter what. We finally went back and first thing they did was weigh and measure Roweyn. She was a little apprehensive since she remembers her appointments from when she had a UTI but over all she did great!

While we waiting Roweyn had a blast sitting in the Drs chair drawing on paper.

We saw an intern first who was getting more hours in to become a Nurse Practitioner. She asked me a bunch of random questions about Roweyn and the family and then got all worried when she saw Roweyn's weight since she is so much smaller than the average 2 year old but having gone over this since Day 1 with Roweyn, I wasn't too worried. She then proceeded to push me about vaccinations in which I just nodded and said okay and that I'd think about them. Roweyn still hasn't had any vaccines and at this point I don't plan on her getting any, any time soon. I know everyone has their own opinion on them and that's fine but this is my choice for her and I'm happy with it.

After the intern was done, Roweyn's Dr popped in for less than 5 minutes to chat. He said there are no worries with Roweyn's weight, his words and I quote, "She's tiny, we've already established that, she's just like you so no big deal!"

So here are her 2 Year Weight and Height Stats!

We don't have to go back in until it's time for her 3 Year Check. Crazy to think that we're at that point now where they only need to see her once a year now! My little girl is growing up!

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk. 53

"Woohoo!" She says. Umm how cute is Roweyn in her little bathrobe? She's also saying "Cheeeese" for the picture.

Decorating her Valentine's Day Cards for her Preschool Class. Early morning snuggles.

Dancing while waiting for her dentist appt. Holding onto her treat that she gets to eat after she sees the dentist.

Checking out a room while still waiting for the Dentist. This was her second time going and she ended up doing so well! I wrote all about it here. After we got home, we spent time outside since it was such a lovely day!

She pulled the pillow & blanket out of the hall closet, laid down on the floor and proceeded to snore and told me she was taking a nap! Climbing and going down the slide at preschool making super cute faces!

Going down another slide and asking for me to hold her hand while she goes down. Drawing in her Cloth Diaper at her 2 year well check after Preschool.

Roweyn's 2 Year Stats at 26months. I wrote all about it here. A frozen yogurt date after her check up.

"Hiding" & Making homemade finger paints, I found the recipe on Pinterest. Check it out here.

Finger painting is so much fun! After finger painting she did water play in the sink for over 30 minutes!

Roweyn's Ramblings | Wk. 26

I tried to get this out only semi late instead of a week late again. I've had half of it ready but then we had company and it's been postponed. ha We had a pretty fun week last week (I guess it's now 2 weeks ago) and I just noticed that I somehow managed to not take any photos Monday or Tuesday. Monday I worked all day and Tuesday was a day of cleaning and getting some stuff planned for the weekend before heading to a fun class at our salon for the evening.

Wednesday we went to the river with friends for the FIRST time this summer! The water levels have been so high and crazy that it hasn't been safe to go until this month. It was a beautiful day, the water was perfect and we had loads of fun. We would probably go every day if we lived a little closer and oh maybe if we didn't have other responsibilities or obligations.
The next morning we were being very good at being sleepy heads and lying around in bed after all the fun we had the day before.

We finally decided to get up and get breakfast. I watched Roweyn be silly like always...slurping milk off her highchair tray because she refuses to eat her food in a bowl and dumps it all out! The she continued by making the CUTEST faces in the world! We spent the rest of the day having fun and spending as little time as  possible on electronics so no photos until she passed out at bed time.

Friday morning Roweyn had what should have been her 18month check up but instead it was more like her 19 month check up. Here are her stats:

Weight: 18lbs 2oz
Height: 32 1/4 inches tall!

She's still on her own growing curve for her weight, she doesn't even make a percentage but she jumped a bit on it which is good. As for height she is in about the 50th percentile. We don't have to go back for another check up for SIX months! That is the first time ever that we don't have to go back for so long so that must be good!

After her check up we headed to Sacramento to go to Goore's, it's a giant local baby super store that carries a little bit of the nicer baby products and gear and has awesome customer service. I don't think I have been there in about 8 years give or take, since my sister was pretty little. I've bought items on their website but it's a little bit of a drive for us. And after doing it, I now know why I haven't done it for so long...it's just too long of a drive and the traffic sucks. Luckily I don't think I'll need to go down there for anything else and can just order stuff from them online.

We went down there to check out the strollers. Goore's is pretty much awesome for their customer service but even more awesome for their customer service on their baby gear. You can go in and test anything inside, you can take the car seats to your car and test them in there and you can take the strollers outside for a walk and such to test everything out.

I decided it was time to look for something a little more functional and versatile and I realized that Roweyn was really already outgrowing her Chicco Cortina. It's a great stroller and I loved it but the foot rest only had 2 positions on it, completely down, or completely up. So if you baby tries to sleep in it, they either have to let their feet hang off the edge or they have to be completely squished and uncomfortable. Plus I wanted something a little better for different terrain. I'm so not a jogger and I kind of really dislike the common jogging strollers but I wanted something similar but more my style. I told myself that I was going there just to LOOK but had a giant feeling I would leave with a little less money in my bank account. I pretty much found exactly what I was looking for. I realized when I started doing my online research that if I wanted a stroller I would be happy with, I was going to have to shell out a little extra cash than I had originally planned. But that's okay with me because I know it will be worth it with this stroller. I was hoping to have it by now but it got delayed shipping out so I'm hoping to have it by Wednesday and I can't wait!

After we got home we headed outside to play. While in the playhouse I found some chalk so I decided to leave a note with chalk on the wall. Not sure why we've never done that before, but I kinda love the idea of writing little notes all over the wall!

Good morning on Saturday! After only an hour in town Roweyn fell asleep on the way home, still rear facing in her car seat! I got her out of her seat and she was still passed out! Normally she wakes up as soon as I unbuckle her.

After she woke up we headed back into the yard where Roweyn found a sled to pull back and forth on the sidewalk. The cutest boatshoes I found for Rowe at Payless of all places! We were eating a red licorice late night snack  which turned into a messy situation for Roweyn. Whoops!

Hopefully I will find some free time this week to get some more posts up since we all know I'm sure behind. :/

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.17

Our week was so different than our norm, since I worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the salon as well as Friday! This may become our new routine though and I really didn't mind it, except for being away from Roweyn three days in a row.

Our weather is still all sorts of terrible and I am so over this gloomy winter crap! It's totally making me depressed, knowing that it's now June, JUNE!!! And we are having no signs of summer weather. I want to be outside playing, going to the river, the lake and the pool, wearing shorts and skirts and summer dresses and putting Roweyn in her summer clothes too!

I've been talking about her "eye" teeth coming in for weeks, maybe even months now, and one has finally cut through! Her other 3 are SO very close and could cut any day.

We spent a lot of time snuggling this week and it was loads of fun. I'm thinking that the weather combined with her teeth coming in, Roweyn needed and wanted some extra love.

Roweyn got weighed on Thursday at our WIC appointment, she is just barely hitting 17lbs!! Which is great because that really pushed her up on her growing curve. She is also 30.5 inches tall now.

My dad and Roweyn seem to have really bonded as of late and it is so cute to see how happy Roweyn is to see him while he is home. She is constantly wanting to play with him and following him around, along with snuggling any chance she gets.

Today we had a BIG surprise planned for Tayelor. My parents planned an early Surprise Birthday Party for her with her classmates. Her birthday isn't till the end of July but they decided to do any early party right before school ended. She was so surprised when she saw all of us....in Kmart of all places. haha Total surprise for her. They did the cake there in the cafe because where they were headed, they didn't allow cake inside, which was the roller skating rink. They also had to travel an hour away to get to the rink and thought it was easier to do the cake in town and then I took it home. Sadly Roweyn and I didn't go, well because there's not much for a toddler to do there, so we opted to come home and watch movies and relax while doing a few things around the house.

Roweyn napped on the way to town for only about 20 minutes and I tried to get her down a bit ago but no such luck and now its getting too late to nap...I have a feeling she will be really tired tonight! :/ Sounds like a repeat of last Sunday.

While I was doing the photos for the post, I got a little carried away and unintentionally made a new header for the blog as well as did some rearrangements. Would love any feedback and if anything looks weird, let me know!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.12

Sorry I'm late on posting this...I haven't spent much time on my computer the past few days. I will write this as if it was still posted Sunday night so that next weeks Roweyn's Ramblings will still be a full week.

This past week we didn't go out much but instead we stayed in and did some much needed spring cleaning.

I worked on Monday, then ran over to the dentist to get a filling on a tiny cavity that I'm not even sure was necessary. A week later and it's still sensitive, where as before, it didn't hurt at all. :( Roweyn was carrying around a little hair clip she got for her birthday but hasn't even worn it once because she hasn't had enough hair, so I decided to see if I could clip it in the little hair that has been growing on top of her head lately and it worked! It looked really funny but I was just so excited that I was able to clip it in and it stayed. ha Be sure to check the photo below!

We woke up Tuesday morning and the first thing Roweyn does when she climbs out of bed is grab a tissue and shows me how to blow her nose. It was so cute! And she made the cutest face too! Of course I got a photo of it. :) We spent the day at home cleaning and organizing. I went through all of Roweyn's clothes, took out anything that didn't fit her, washed any new clothes and went through some hand-me-downs. I think I did at least 10 loads of laundry and they were all her clothes...only because a lot were new (from Easter) so I was washing a ton of clothes separately. Roweyn was so good with helping me and playing contently with a few breaks in between.

Wednesday Roweyn turned 16 months!! I can't believe in 2 months she will be 1.5. It's crazy to me!

We had planned to get together with friends on Thursday but all of us were quite tired and I still had SO much cleaning and organizing to do still, so again we spent the day doing more spring cleaning.

Friday, Roweyn had her 15mo well check, even though she was already 16 months. I swear the way doctors offices schedule appointments really never makes sense. And apparently not to them either because they were running an hour behind schedule! I ended up not having to work, thank God. No shots for Roweyn since we don't do them. We might do some at some point, but right now she isn't getting any. Here are her Height and Weight Stats...

Sleeping the night of her 16mo birthday
Stats:
16 months old
Weight: 16.5lbs
Height: 30in
Head: 44cm

Her Dr says she's still not quite high enough on her growing curve, it seems to still be straightening out. So she has to be weighed and measured once a month till her 18 month check at the beginning of August. Then I have to let him know what her stats were every month. He still doesn't seem worried, he knows that Roweyn comes from a small Mama, but just wants to keep an eye on her....as far as I know.

Roweyn spent most of the day on Saturday with my mom at the park for her friends birthday party while I worked. It was a lovely day but apparently super windy during the first part of it. I picked her up from the park on my way home from work and when we got home we let Cyder out and spent another at least 30 minutes outside. She is LOVING the weather! I have a feeling we will be outside non stop this summer, going to the park, river, pool or just in our back yard. She's at the perfect age to really spend time outside and enjoy it and I can't wait to enjoy it with her.

Sunday we spent the day at home, the first part of the day was warm enough for us to spend some time outside in between doing cloth diaper laundry. We played in the grass, with the rocks and inside her playhouse. We hung the diapers out to sun for the first time this year. Afterwards we both took a nap, she woke up and I was still really tired so my Mom took her back outside for a bit while I took another little nap on the couch. For a snack we had some strawberries with sour cream (and then dipped in sugar for me) and Roweyn tried a peep for the first time. She chewed on it a little bit, but had more fun poking holes in it and playing with it, so it hardly even got eaten, which I'm very happy about! It was the perfect way to spend our day.

Here is our week in photos

Oh you know, just me at the dentist...you like?

I love her tiny legs and feet!

That about sums up our week. Hope you all had a great week last week and a great one this week as well! Mother's day is this weekend! Anyone have any fun plans? We sure do, but will talk about them either later on this week or next week during Roweyn's Ramblings.
