Oh Hey Guys! | Our Life Lately

Hi there!

We're still alive. It's been a long time since I've been on here. Whoops! But we've just been living life ya know? I have about a million pictures I've wanted to post on here and just noticed I have a bunch of posts that never got published from forever ago. So I apologize in advance for the flood that you may see.

Here's some photos from Mother's Day in Tahoe. Enjoy!

On our way to Tahoe!

Brunch in Tahoe

So happy my brother could make it for brunch with us.

I didn't bring a swim suit for Rowe because I figured it'd be too cold but she wanted to swim any way so I stripped her down to her skivvies and she had a great time!

My Mom with almost all her kids and Grandkids

My Dad was there too!

Tahoe was beautiful. It was a great Mother's Day! Can't wait to be back in the area this weekend for Father's Day.

Mother's Day Weekend

On the Friday before Mom's Day, Roweyn's Preschool celebrated Mother's day with all the kids Mamas.

The kids gave all the Mom's a cute little Parsley plant that they planted in a pot they decorated with little fingerprints turned into bugs.

Then we had a Mother's day brunch. All the kids brought in a piece of fruit that they got to cut with special cutter for a fruit salad.
It was fun seeing all the kids participate in making the brunch for us.

On Saturday, Roweyn got me an early Mother's Day present before we headed to Reno for the rest of the weekend.

My brother and his girlfriend made us a special Mother's Day brunch on Sunday for my Mom, myself and my sister in law.
It was great, like all his food always is!

After brunch we went mini golfing. It was Roweyn's first time going and she loved it.
She was actually pretty good too! We went right at nap time but she did great the entire time even though she was tired.

While we were golfing, a Mama duck with her TWELVE ducklings go waddling across the course and into the pond.
I even got to help one climb over the rock into the water.
Roweyn and my niece thought that was so fun to see them and Roweyn wanted to follow them around the rest of the time!

Rowe with a golf club just her size!

After mini golfing we got some frozen yogurt before saying goodbye to our fam and getting ready to head back home.

It was such an easy going day with no big plans. Everyone had fun and it was really nice to be able to spend it with the entire family.

Mother's Day Weekend Pt.2

If you missed Pt.1 of my Mother's Day Weekend, be sure to check it out here!

Roweyn LOVED the Dolphin Show. She was so into it and would not take her eyes off the Dolphins for anything. She clapped and danced to the music and pointed to the Dolphins.

After the show, we got a Funnel cake and some ice cream and then headed back over to some of the little rides for the kiddos. While Tayelor was off riding a ride with our Dad, I took Roweyn over to the mini Merry-Go-Round to ride it for the first time. I was unsure if Roweyn would like it and when I put her on the Panda she was a little fussy. But then it started, and while we were spinning and she was going up and down she was laughing, smiling and bouncing. It was so cute! She LOVED it!!

We walked around for a bit and found a little play area that Roweyn could play in while we waited for Tayelor and my dad before we headed to our friends house for the night.

Love that we're both looking the same way
and we both have the same expression

Rowe passed out on our way to our friends house,
she was worn out!

It was an awesome day with the whole fam and I had so much fun with Roweyn and watching how excited she got about everything, it made me excited too, I felt like a kid again.

Sadly, I only have one photo from Saturday when we were in San Francisco, it was so windy and cold in the morning that there just wasn't much to take photos of.

We started the day off by dropping my Mom and sister off at the Girl Scout event, then my Dad, Roweyn and I headed towards Fishermans Wharf to get some coffee and breakfast and do some walking around. We had breakfast at Starbucks then walked around going in and out of shops, browsing, sight seeing, etc.

We decided to head over to the farmers market after Roweyn had woken up but when we were on our way, we got into a very minor fender bender and by the time we got done dealing with it, we only had a short while longer before having to pick up the girls. So instead we headed over to Union Square to do some more walking and shopping. We stopped at H&M, I found a couple tops, nursed Roweyn and then the girls called us letting us know they were done.

That was about the extent of our day, after picking up the girls we headed home while making one stop in Roseville.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and were able to celebrate Mother's Day whether you are the Mama, husband, daughter or son!

Mother's Day Weekend Pt.1

We had such a fun weekend. We planned it about a month ago when my parents decided they would go with my sister down to San Francisco on Saturday for her Girl Scout Event. It then turned into Roweyn and me coming to. The plan was we would head down to our friends house about half way between ours and SF, we'd spend the night there and then head to SF the next day. My Mom then came up with the idea of going to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on Friday. This place is great because it not only is an amusement park but a small zoo as well with all sorts of animals and animal shows, perfect for Roweyn.

So to me, my weekend all started on Thursday when we took our trip to Roseville that I talked about in Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.13. It was a fun day of just shopping with the girls, well over due. Roweyn and Kashmir were both semi cranky that day but we got through it and ended the trip with them both napping on the way home. Perfect! After we got back I spent most of the evening packing up the rest of our stuff for the trip.

We woke up super early Friday morning, quickly got ready to go and then were on our way to Six Flags. The drive went great and we got there shortly after the park had opened, only to see that it was "Field Trip Day" for some of the surrounding schools. There were TONS of grade school kids, I think there were at least 10 school buses in the parking lot. Lucky for us most of these kids were there to ride the big rides, while we were there mainly for the animals and shows with the hopes of sneaking in a couple rides if there was time and no long lines.

The weather was perfect, a little breezy but not windy. We walked around looking at animals and stopping here and there for the occasional ride for Tayelor and even a couple for Roweyn! She kept looking at all the giant roller coasters and pointing to them....she is a girl after my own heart. I was the kid that at 7yrs old wasn't tall enough yet to ride the big rides with my older brothers and dad, so I wore shoes that made me taller and big hats. I was still hardly tall enough and I remember the people always questioning me, but I was determined and never got turned down. :)

The whole fam
oh and a pig

Rowe was obsessed with this dolphin fountain

This penguin kept following us

I laugh every time I see this walrus
He kept smooshing his face onto the glass in front of Rowe
And it FREAKED her out
Which makes sense since he was HUGE

So unsure of this guy

Oh the things parents do for their kids
We were so squished but
Roweyn LOVED it
Even when we flew up high

Fishies and sharks

Rowe watching Nana, Papa and Auntie Tayelor
on the bumper cars

After a bunch of walking and checking out some animals, we went over to the Whale Show. It was getting close to Roweyn's nap time so she wasn't super interested but she thought it was pretty great when the whale splashed and almost hit us with water a few times.

After the whale show, we had some lunch, Roweyn fell asleep, so my Dad and I decided it would be the perfect time to go ride a big ride before we would go feed the Giraffes. It took about an hour by the time we were done, but we got to sit front row on the biggest roller coaster. After that, we headed back over to meet my mom, Tayelor and Roweyn to go feed the Giraffes.  We had to pay $5 but then we got to feed them over and over again for 30 mins. Roweyn loved seeing the Giraffe, she would hold the food in her hand but as soon as we got close to it she would throw the food at me and get nervous. So I would feed the Giraffe, she'd watch and then as soon as the Giraffe took the food, Roweyn would make a noise and hug me. It was so funny, it happened every.single.time.

We walked around a little more and then headed over to the Dolphin Show.

And that is where I will leave off. There are SO many photos and words that I'd rather make it two posts so that it's not too long! Pt.2 will be posted tomorrow with the end of the day at Six Flags and also what we did in SF. Be sure to check it out because there are some REALLY cute photos of Roweyn on a ride that you will not want to miss!

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.13

Happy Mother's Day to all you beautiful, hard working Mamas! There should be a Mother's Day once a month to recognize all the hard work Moms do!

Wow, what a week it has been! We were so busy! Here's a super fast recap of the week and then I'll go into more detail with some, but others I will have posts for.

Monday I worked, not too exciting, my Mom dropped Roweyn off at my work before I was done. Very interesting to say the least! Roweyn was great, she hung out in her stroller most of the time, snacking and talking. I was supposed to be off within a half hour but ended being there for almost another 2 hours. I worked for an hour then had to wait around for another hour before I could leave.

That night while I was feeding Roweyn dinner, I was knocking my foot on the chair, she turned to me and said in her cute little baby voice "At ta door, Mama" and pointed to the door. I told her "No one's there, its just me" and she asks, "Oh, no one tere?" and I said, "Nope just me", she says, "K Mama".

I couldn't believe that I had just had an actual conversation with her! It blows my mind that we were able to do that and now daily we are having conversations. She's getting so big!

Tuesday was such a nice day! We headed to the park to meet Trisha and Kashmir. We had a nice little picnic, the girls played in the grass then we headed up to the playground for a bit before we headed of to an appointment.

Wednesday, we worked at P.Pants, my Mom and Tayelor came by in the afternoon and took Roweyn with them over to Tayelor's softball game where I picked her up about an hour later.

Thursday was such a fun day. Trisha and I have been talking about going to Roseville for a year now but never could because our cars were too small to take the girls in their infant car seats. Now that they're both in bigger car seats and I have the Escape, we were able to go on Thursday. The girls were both in a mood that morning and for part of the day but they napped on the way there. We headed to lunch, then over to Nordstrom where Roweyn got her first pair of bright purple Salt Water Sandals. They are so cute! Then we stopped at a few more stores, all mainly for the girls and then headed back home.

Friday we woke up super early and headed towards Vallejo to go to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. We had such a fun day and will have a full post on it sometime this week!

We stayed at our friends house in Vacaville for the night and the woke up again super early Saturday morning to get to San Francisco for an even Tayelor was going to. While my mom and Tayelor did that, Roweyn and I spent the day with my Dad hanging out in SF which we will also talk about in the post.

We got home late last night and were so tired today that we spent Mother's Day today, relaxing in our pjs. We took a nap, did some laundry, took a bath and watched a movie.

Here's the first half of the week in photos, the rest will be in the other posts.
