Roweyn's Ramblings Wk. 53

"Woohoo!" She says. Umm how cute is Roweyn in her little bathrobe? She's also saying "Cheeeese" for the picture.

Decorating her Valentine's Day Cards for her Preschool Class. Early morning snuggles.

Dancing while waiting for her dentist appt. Holding onto her treat that she gets to eat after she sees the dentist.

Checking out a room while still waiting for the Dentist. This was her second time going and she ended up doing so well! I wrote all about it here. After we got home, we spent time outside since it was such a lovely day!

She pulled the pillow & blanket out of the hall closet, laid down on the floor and proceeded to snore and told me she was taking a nap! Climbing and going down the slide at preschool making super cute faces!

Going down another slide and asking for me to hold her hand while she goes down. Drawing in her Cloth Diaper at her 2 year well check after Preschool.

Roweyn's 2 Year Stats at 26months. I wrote all about it here. A frozen yogurt date after her check up.

"Hiding" & Making homemade finger paints, I found the recipe on Pinterest. Check it out here.

Finger painting is so much fun! After finger painting she did water play in the sink for over 30 minutes!

Roweyn's Second Trip to the Dentist

So Wednesday morning, Roweyn took her 2nd trip to the Dentist for a check up. I was definitely nervous because she has changed SO much since the first time she went just barely a year ago. She did amazing the first time, but she's gotten so much more aware of her surroundings and very aware of people she doesn't know, so I really had no idea how she'd react.

Roweyn took a short nap on the way to town which kinda surprised me since it was only 9:30 and we hadn't been up that long, but she woke up happy so I knew we were off to a good start. We spent about 10-15 minutes in the waiting room and no one else was there so we were able to wander around, spend a lot of time checking out the giant mural on the wall of the forest along with the forest animals which she pointed out and then repeated me as I named off all of them, and then she found the kids room.

P.S. How cute is her outfit?!

We got called back and headed off to our chair, Roweyn sat on my lap and waited patiently. The Dental Assistant was quick to bring Rowe a bag of goodies with a new cup, 2 new toothbrushes and toothpaste and right afterwards the Dentist arrived. He took a look in Roweyn's mouth and she had no problem with it at all! She was so brave and sat so still! He said her teeth all look great with some spaces between the teeth which means her permanent teeth shouldn't have any issues when it's time for them to come in. He asked me if I had any concerns and I told him that her bite looked a bit funny. When she bites down, her top left "eye tooth" goes inside her lower teeth instead of on the outside which then results in her having a big gap between her front top and lower teeth. He said it's not a big deal since they're all her baby teeth and her bite will change when her top teeth start coming it. I also asked him if it had anything to do with her still having a pacifier, he said no and he would only be concerned if she was 4 or 5 and still had one and at this age it's not a big deal. *I'm not sure I've said the word "teeth" so many times before!

All in all it was another great experience and I walked away happy and knowing that I'm doing everything I can to help her have healthy clean teeth. I was so so proud of Roweyn and how great she did and she most definitely got a treat for being so good! She loves the Cliffs Kids Fruit Ropes and calls them treats which makes me happy because she's still getting something healthy and she pretty much thinks it's candy!

It's pretty much the cutest thing ever
to hear her say that word

Happy 17 Months!

Roweyn,

You are already closer to18 months, than 17 months. I really can't believe how time flies. I swear just yesterday you were this little teeny baby, and yes you are still teeny, but really you are not even close to a baby anymore. You are most certainly a full fledged toddler!

You are SO busy! I can't even try to keep up with you. As soon as I clean one thing up you're already into 3 other things. And they're usually things you shouldn't be in, you're now reaching onto counters and tables still taller than your head, yet you are still able to grab so much off of them.

You're becoming more and more independent. What the heck?! I thought I still had at least another 6 months or more before this stage hit.

You crack me up every day with the faces you make and the way you talk. I love that we can just look at each other and start laughing for no reason. You understand EVERYTHING we say to you and you are becoming quite good at expressing yourself and what you want. You say and do things that I have no clue how you learned and am just amazed by how smart you really are. You pick up on everything around you and you are so curious of your surroundings.

You have 16 teeth now! 16!!! All of them except for your two year old molars, which knowing you, will probably come before you're two. Your sleep habits have been pretty much the same for the last month or two. Sleeping in your stroller for naps, which you take at about the same time every day. And sleeping at night, you seem to show the same patterns but you usually have at least one to two nights a week where you are sleeping in till close to 6am in your own bed and then I pull you into mine for a couple more hours. You almost never sleep past 8:15 now and you always have a fun way of waking me up, whether it be, poking me in the face, patting my chest, talking or just trying to climb off the bed.

You still love playing with Cyder but have gotten much more rough with her and as much as Cyder loves you, she's not so fond of being hit or squeezed by your many hugs hundreds of times a day. And yet she just jumps up and licks you afterwards.

You're such an awesome kiddo. I am so so so proud to be your Mama and so extremely lucky. You are my everything and you mean more than the world to me. I loved you so much before you were even born, more than you can even imagine, and yet my love for you grows even more every day. I look forward to each day I have with you and am always so excited to see what you will do next.

Love you much!

Love,
Mama

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.17

Our week was so different than our norm, since I worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the salon as well as Friday! This may become our new routine though and I really didn't mind it, except for being away from Roweyn three days in a row.

Our weather is still all sorts of terrible and I am so over this gloomy winter crap! It's totally making me depressed, knowing that it's now June, JUNE!!! And we are having no signs of summer weather. I want to be outside playing, going to the river, the lake and the pool, wearing shorts and skirts and summer dresses and putting Roweyn in her summer clothes too!

I've been talking about her "eye" teeth coming in for weeks, maybe even months now, and one has finally cut through! Her other 3 are SO very close and could cut any day.

We spent a lot of time snuggling this week and it was loads of fun. I'm thinking that the weather combined with her teeth coming in, Roweyn needed and wanted some extra love.

Roweyn got weighed on Thursday at our WIC appointment, she is just barely hitting 17lbs!! Which is great because that really pushed her up on her growing curve. She is also 30.5 inches tall now.

My dad and Roweyn seem to have really bonded as of late and it is so cute to see how happy Roweyn is to see him while he is home. She is constantly wanting to play with him and following him around, along with snuggling any chance she gets.

Today we had a BIG surprise planned for Tayelor. My parents planned an early Surprise Birthday Party for her with her classmates. Her birthday isn't till the end of July but they decided to do any early party right before school ended. She was so surprised when she saw all of us....in Kmart of all places. haha Total surprise for her. They did the cake there in the cafe because where they were headed, they didn't allow cake inside, which was the roller skating rink. They also had to travel an hour away to get to the rink and thought it was easier to do the cake in town and then I took it home. Sadly Roweyn and I didn't go, well because there's not much for a toddler to do there, so we opted to come home and watch movies and relax while doing a few things around the house.

Roweyn napped on the way to town for only about 20 minutes and I tried to get her down a bit ago but no such luck and now its getting too late to nap...I have a feeling she will be really tired tonight! :/ Sounds like a repeat of last Sunday.

While I was doing the photos for the post, I got a little carried away and unintentionally made a new header for the blog as well as did some rearrangements. Would love any feedback and if anything looks weird, let me know!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.15

I had another short week of work which meant another 3 days off in a row and no work again on Saturday. It was nice to have the time off but I'm ready to be back! I haven't made much money lately and am trying to make some decisions about what I should do to change that.

It worked out for this week though since we were getting ready for the garage sale and there was so much  preparing to do! It's all over with now though, thank God! I never knew having a garage sale could make me so sore! It was so weird, I woke up in the middle of the night and almost started crying while half asleep, I was in so much pain and felt sore EVERYWHERE, it was the weirdest feeling. My whole body was just throbbing, it was like I had been doing some sort of extreme sport all day. haha I am SO exhausted from the lack of sleep and all the work that goes into it, but the reward for getting so much sold is SO SO SO worth it! I made over $300 selling baby items, baby clothes, a couple brand new cloth diapers, some old books, knick knacks, and some of my old clothes. It was great to sell so much but I surprisingly still have more stuff to get rid of!

We spent 3 full days outside which Roweyn isn't used to but ended up loving. I think she would live out there if she could! It's SO difficult to set up for a garage sale when you have a toddler wandering around, following the cats and dogs, getting into stuff, and wanting to be fed or picked up though. I tried to keep her in her "gated community", her big gate that turns into a hexagon, but she's not used to being stuck in a little area, so it didn't work too well. So we made do with having to watch her  and Tayelor helped out a lot.

This week Roweyn learned how to say "No". She has been shaking her head "No" for a couple weeks now but now she is combining the word with it. And so far she is doing really well putting it into context. If I ask her if she is still hungry and she's not, she will say "No" or if she wants her diaper changed and again it's "No". haha She does say "Yeah" as well and does really well with answering our questions too.

She has been doing really well with her naps, a few of them this week she slept for 2.5 hours and I think her nap today might have been even longer. Night time though she has had a couple difficult nights. All her "eye" teeth are trying to cut through her gums which I am sure are playing a part in it. They have been messing with her for weeks and I'm really hoping they cut through soon! They will be the last teeth she gets before her 2 year old molars.

And now we are off to bed to hopefully get a good nights rest, but of course not before our photos from this week!

This is how Roweyn naps at home
because she refuses to nap in her crib during the day!
