Movie Monday: Week Twenty Seven

It's Monday already and I have a super early and long day of work today. :( My week is somewhat up in the air and I'm not too fond of it being this way but oh well what am I supposed to do? ha

The videos this week are from the end of February. Roweyn was two days short of 14 months when we had a huge snow storm. Normally it doesn't snow down at our house and when it does it usually never sticks. This day it did though, pretty much just for the day but nonetheless we took advantage of it! The first one is right when it really started snowing while Roweyn was eating, so we decided to watch it come down.

This next one we decided to go out and play. There really wasn't a whole lot of snow yet but we still had fun! I pulled Roweyn around in a little sled and she had a blast! And so did the cat...haha

Movie Monday: Week Twenty Six

We have a busy week ahead of us! I decided to work an extra day and am working three days in a row but then I will have both Saturday and Sunday off which will be a nice change. But we will be busy every day this week so I have a feeling this Mama will be a little more tired than I usually am.


This week there are two videos of Rowe from the same night. Her just being cute and doing new things! She is 13.5 months old in them, doing some reading in the first one and cleaning anyone and everything in sight in the second one. 

I know lately the blog has been a bit boring....I just haven't had much time of anything else to post about but am hoping to change that this week.

Movie Monday: Week Twenty Five

Today's movies are from when Roweyn was 13.5 months old. My mom and I pulled out one of those old bouncy  seats, planning to get rid of it, when Roweyn found it and decided to climb into it. She thought it was the funnest toy, sitting, laying, bouncing and even standing in it. She was having so much fun with it that I decided to let her keep it. Here are a few videos over a couple days of her playing in it.

Movie Monday: Week Twenty Four

It's only Monday and I feel like it should be later in the week....I don't think that is a good sign as to how this week is gonna go. :/ We have a busy week getting ready for our garage sale this weekend, but I am oh so excited to be getting rid of stuff! I hope it sells!

Anyways, we are finally onto February's movies. If you've been following me for a while, you'll remember that I had stopped for a bit a couple months ago due to computer issues, so we ended up getting behind on videos.

So Roweyn is 13 almost 13.5 months in this video, taking a bath in the big bath tub all by herself and loving it!

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.4

So I missed last weeks post for this because the week before ended up being in the middle of last week...does that make sense? ha So for this week, I'm just going to combine the two of them, which I think is going to be harder than I thought it would be...


Last week:


Roweyn had her first dentist appointment on Thursday! It was only like a 5 minute appointment. All they did was look at all her teeth and that was it! She did so good! And all the girls that worked there had to come in and see her! They were so excited a baby was there. ha


Friday it snowed at our house, which is very rare. It will snow up in town which is about 15 mins away from us, but it came all the way down, so we went in our backyard and played in the very little amount of snow we got! Here are a few photos! Finally photos for my posts!

My dad built that play house for me when I was around 9 years old.

After me, my now 10 yr old sister played in it.

After her, our niece now 6 played in it.

And now Roweyn gets to play in it!

That is a man made lake behind us and is big enough that it never freezes

Roweyn turned 14 months on Sunday! I can't believe it!! I will have a post up for her 14 month letter as soon as I can!

This week:

One of Roweyn's new things is opening her mouth and showing us whats inside. If we ask to see her teeth, she opens up. You can't really see them though because she forms a big circle with her lips and blocks all her teeth. It's so cute though! She did it for the dentist last Thursday. And Thursday at breakfast, I asked her if she was all done eating and she opened her mouth to show me there was no more food.

Thursday morning I was getting Roweyn dressed and I said, "Look how cute you are!" and she said "how cute"! It was darling and she said it so well!

I signed her up for preschool for the fall on Thursday too. She is going to do a toddler and parent class one day a week at this darling preschool called Tall Pines Nursery School. My sister went there when she was younger and I helped out on occasion and always thought it was great. It's a coop school, so the parents are very involved and help out in the classroom as well as events and other things that go on, which I think is great!

Last night when I got home from work I really noticed how independent she is getting already. From wanting to put things away on her own, to trying to clip her pacifier clip on her shirt, to attempting to drink out of regular cups, and trying to dress and undress herself, even washing herself in the shower. My little girl is growing up before my eyes, its crazy and so bittersweet.

Every day she does something new, I can't wait to see what happens next week!

Weight Check

Roweyn had her weight check last Friday the 18th to see if she caught back up to where she needs to be on her growing curve and I had them measure her length as well!

Stats:

13.5 Months Old

Weight: 15lbs 13oz

Height: 30in.

So her weight is not quite up to where it needs to be, but we blame that on the other 3/4 of an inch that she grew this past month! Seriously she is like a bean stalk! Her height has shot up so high lately, its crazy! We go into WIC in a couple weeks and the Dr asked me to have her weighed again and call to let him know the results, so it looks like he wants to keep an eye on her weight but I don't think there is really anything to worry about.

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.3

This has been such a busy week that I'm not even sure if I can remember everything that has happened!

Roweyn has had a bit of a cold, its not a terrible one though, just a runny nose and not feeling completely herself.

She is obsessed with playing with Cyder. They are such best friends and she constantly wants to play tug a war with her! Only bummer about this is that Cyder has accidentally nipped Roweyn's fingers a couple times. Not realizing shes doing it because she is just trying to get the toy from Roweyn.

Roweyn has learned how to climb down our 2 stairs that lead from our entrance into our living room. So great because now we don't have to worry about her falling down them, even though its not a big fall.

She started twirling. So cute, she spins and spins with the most darling smile until she falls over and then she laughs and sits there looking around cause she's dizzy.

She is getting better about keeping hats, headbands and hoods on. So happy about this cause I have so many cute headbands and hats I keep trying to get her to wear!

Roweyn has really been into babbling sentences, especially after she hears the grown ups talking. She likes to join in, its pretty cute.

Her sleeping hasn't been great this past week because of her not feeling good. She won't let me put her down in her crib once she is asleep and same goes for my bed, so I either have to hold her until I want to go to bed, or climb in bed with her and go to sleep. Last night was the first night that she spent half the night in her crib. So hopefully that means she is starting to feel better and will be back to sleeping in her crib in no time.

She decided to wake up at 6:30 this morning! I honestly can't remember the last time she woke up this early! I'm dying today. She went to bed a little after 9 which is later than usual lately, so I have no idea why she was up so early. Let's hope this doesn't happen again!

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.2

Roweyn did a lot of fun stuff this past week along with something from last week that I forgot about. So I'll start with last week...

While my mom was watching Roweyn she heard a plunking and splashing noise while she was in her room. So she goes looking for Roweyn to find her with a stuffed Penguin about the same size as her and she is dunking it in the toilet! She has a fascination with the toilet and it's totally gross! We have to keep our bathroom doors closed otherwise she goes straight for the toilet. It's terrible!

This week:

I asked Roweyn on Tuesday if she was thirsty and she repeated me. She said "Thirsty"! I was so surprised as that is definitely not an easy word for a little one to say.

I normally just put Roweyn in the shower with me every day and then we will take a bath together once a week. This week she had a bath in the big bath tub all by herself! She loves to stand in the tub, so I definitely have to work on that with her.

She has started saying "baby" and it sounds so cute because she says like "baybay". She kept saying it to our cat yesterday....no idea why.

Speaking of cat, her name is Vaya and Roweyn said Vaya today! She learns to say so many words so fast!

She has been obsessed with playing tug a war with Cyder. She loves it, even when Cyder pulls her over and she laughs!
Roweyn got another one of her bottom teeth in on Wednesday, on her left, next to her front teeth, she was looking a little uneven having only 3 teeth next to each other so I'm glad this one finally decided to pop through!

My dad works out of town and only comes home every other weekend, so he came home on Thursday. He had only been home for a few minutes when he disappeared into his office and Roweyn decided to go find him, but she didn't know where he went. So I asked her, "Roweyn where is Papa?" She looks around and doesn't see him so she holds her hands, palms up, in that "Where'd he go?" pose and then she started walking around with her arms in that pose stretched behind her, still looking for him. It was darling.

He watched Roweyn for about 5.5 hours yesterday while I was at work and my mom was out of town. She did great and they had lots of fun together! This was their first big day together by themselves, so glad it went so well!

He taught her how to throw the balloon. So cute! She even caught it a couple times!

Something new this week for me....

I started taking clients today at my salon I work at! Just haircuts for now unless I have a friend that wants to come in for a color. I had 3 clients, which was pretty good for my first day! My official day for right now is Saturdays, but if there is time during the week when I am already there then I might take someone here and there. I can't wait to really start building up a clientele. So if you're local and in need of a haircut, let me know! I have really good prices! And you get $10 off your first cut with me!

Well thats about all I can think of right now, my computer is still in the shop, they haven't even gotten the part for it yet. Apparently "priority repair" doesn't mean that much if it's been 4 days and still no part. I'm trying to find a good blogging app on my iPhone so that I can blog from there but so far I haven't really seen anything. So if you know of a good one, send it my way!

Roweyn's Ramblings Wk.1

This is the first of hopefully many new weekly posts about the funny, cute, darling etc. things that Roweyn does during the week! I'm still trying to think of a catchy name for it...(Roweyn's Ramblings?, Roweyn's Reactions?) any ideas?

Well, here we go!

Wednesday before dinner, Roweyn got under our dining room table to play with Cyder. When she stood up, she still fit, but she couldn't figure out how to get out from under it because the side of the table was too low and she doesn't know how to duck. It was cute, we have never seen her get stuck before!

After dinner, the dishwasher was open in the kitchen and Roweyn walked over to it and started unloading the dishwasher. She handed all the dishes from the bottom rack to my Mom. She watches EVERYTHING we do!

Tonight she was carrying a bottle around, she set it down at the top of the 2 stairs that we have, she climbed the stairs. Then bit the nipple of the bottle with her mouth so she could still use her hands to stand up and not have to bend back down to pick it up! I don't know where she learned how to do that but it was pretty smart!

She has learned how to back up while walking!

Roweyn's favorite things this week are:

To explore every cabinet and drawer in our house and take out whatever's in them!
Feed and pet Coco, my sister's Chinchila.
Try to carry everyone's shoes around and put them on her feet.

P.S. My computer is fixed and I am picking it up on Sunday! So next week we should be back to having photos in our posts! So happy!

Happy 13 Months Roweyn!

Today, my darling girl, you turned 13 months old! And what a fun month it has been!

I swear your New Years Resolutions were to start walking and talking twice as much as in 2010. Yes, you did start taking steps in December, and you have been talking since 6 months old but now you are doing it non stop. You walk EVERYWHERE now! And it's your mission to get into every. single. thing. that you couldn't get into before. I feel like we've entered new territory because now when I hold you, you squirm in my arms and you want to get down so you can walk around and play. This is so new to me! You want to open every cupboard and drawer to see what's in them and what you can take out. It's so fun to see this new side of you, but so exhausting for me to chase you around and pick up twice as much after you. Everyone is so surprised by you when they see you walk, you are still such a teeny little girl weighing only 15lbs 10oz. But you have gotten taller which helps! You are now 29 1/4in!

You seem to have developed a whole new personality. Especially with the new words you have learned like "Stop" and "Don't". Sometimes when you are getting into something you are not supposed to be in, I will tell you to stop, and you will look at me and point your finger at me while "yelling" and pretending to be mommy. I know I'm not supposed to laugh at this, but it's just so funny that it's hard not to. And of course, I don't yell, I just talk sternly. :)

Besides exploring all the new places you couldn't get to before you walked, some of your favorite things to do right now, are walk Cyder on her leash, pretend to put make up on like mommy does, climb the stairs, and read books together.

You have 8 teeth now, with 4 on their way in. You got your first owie the other day. You were trying to reach for something, lost your balance and hit your mouth on the corner of the table. You split the inside of your top lip but you were such a trooper! Only cried for a minute and you couldn't even tell just by looking at you that you had even gotten hurt. You are getting better about going to bed earlier and falling asleep in your crib. It's still a work in progress but I am so proud by how fast you have learned that it's okay to sleep in there by yourself.

I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us, I think it's going to be a very fun and exciting year! Thanks for being the best thing that's ever happened to me! I love you so much!!
